Impecable 1950’s “Time Capsule” Home Will Blow You Away (Photos)

In 2014, a 96-year-old woman living in Bloor West Village in Toronto, Canada was faced with a big decision: trying to keep living on her own or moving into a retirement community. The homeowner, a seamstress and knitter by trade, decided to sell her home of 72 years for about $699,000.

She always had a passion for interior design – especially when it came to the 1950s and 60s apparently! When you see the stunning “time capsule” images below, you will know exactly what we mean. It’s surprising, too, because the outside of the home looks so unassuming. Yet from the floor to the ceiling and the basement to the second level, the homeowner and her family had maintained its classic beauty and style for over seven decades.

“I’ve always tried to be individual and follow my own style,” the homeowner said in an interview with HGTV. “I like soft colors and I like things to match and flow well together. I prefer tone-on-tone to bright colors.”

You might prefer more modern décor and hardwood floors, but right now you’ll have to settle for pink and purple rooms, floral wallpaper, ornate frames, and the incredible list goes on.

Check Out the Home’s Interior Below…

Despite being a modest 2-storey, 3-bedroom detached house, it bursts with personality! Let’s start from the bottom up.

Both the real estate company Royal LePage’s listing and HGTV interview link have since expired, so we’re unsure what the house looks like now. Something like this could have turned into an historic landmark! But it looks like it’s just going to have to live on through the remaining photos…
