Some of the rarest fauna and flora in the world are found in Australia. With diverse landscapes, friendly locals, and exotic beaches, you never run out of things to do for fun. A road trip from Melbourne to Cairns is five-hours of pure heaven, with the amazing scenery, lovely islands, and peaceful forests. What’s not to like about a country with over 10,600 beaches (mostly with white sand and sparkling water), 500 national parks, and over 8,200 islands. 8,200! From surfing and sea-skating to hiking and skinny-dipping, Australia would seem like the perfect place to be during any vacation.
Well, do not judge a book by its cover. As beautiful as she is, there are certain things about Australia that you might want to consider before paying her a visit. These pictures from Blissful Area via Bored Panda should give you an insight. [1]
Let’s start with the fact that 21 out of the 25 most venomous snakes in the world are found in Australia. [2] Uh, no thanks. I’d rather stay home and watch paint dry. There are over a 100 more deadly species in the country, but it’s mind-blowing that so many most dangerous ones in the world would make theirhome in the same place. There are two popular reasons why Australia has so many snakes. Firstly, there are tons of slow prey in the country, and snakes don’t have to be as fast as lightning to catch some food. Secondly, snakes are morning slugs, and the sun in Aussie is just the right amount of harsh to get them actively crawling.

It’s too bad that Roger died last year. Roger was Australia’s most muscular kangaroo. It’s not uncommon for male roos to look like bodybuilders

These are largest living crocodiles in the world and by far the most dangerous animal in Australia.

Caterpillars should own a salon too, because some of them can get super-hairy
King of earthworms
So much fauna you can’t name them all
One of the deadliest snakes in the world chilling in a child’s lunchbox
The hailstones are larger than billiard balls
Snakes can build a palace in your home
Highly venomous blue-ringed octopus
Snakes have a thing for toilets
Dracula has nothing on Australian bats
Australian spiders, large-sized as they are, are a whole new vibe. Some are venomous. This one was found right on the backdoor at night.
A roadside ditch. A sign should read: Careful: LEthal crocs ahead
Check everything before you use or wear it
This is me after a day at the salon. I usually get pink all over
A dead whale so bloated it’s about to explode
Spiders can build a colony anywhere. Even on your meter
Spider frost
Araucaria: Extra-large pine cones
They probably ran out of paint and couldn’t mark the other side of the sign
I hope the snake had a credit card
The Sydney funnel-web, one of the deadliest spiders in Australia
There’s something about Australia that makes the animals grow so large
Best for last. By far the worst one for me: the gray-headed flying fox
