Everything That Is Meant For You Will Come To You When It’s Time

By “the perfect time” is meant the appropriate time and the appointed time after you have exercised patience. This is not easy for some people to understand in a world that is now characterized by impatience. – Marlon Martin

Last year, I had everything I’ve ever worked for fall apart within months. Everything I cherished and had struggled to build from scratch was destroyed before my eyes. At first, I was terrified of the impact these losses would have on me. Gradually, the feeling of fear graduated to anger. Why would God give me a test I was sure to fail? I screamed, shook my feet in exasperation, and even threatened God. Yes, I did. I asked him to fix all of my problems within a specific timeline, or I would stop being a believer. These challenges tested every fiber of my being. I saw the face of depression taunting me, even as it edged close to my abode.

After a short while, I picked myself up and fought. If God wasn’t going to help me, then I would help myself. I opposed God’s plan. I fought time. I challenged everything that didn’t make sense to me. Still, there was no improvement. Then I gave up.

And it came back together

Not long after, things started to shape up in the most unexpected of ways. And just like it broke apart, it came together again. It was like an invisible hand was putting everything back in place. As I meditated on the journey to where I currently am, I understood why it took so long for a solution: It simply wasn’t time for it. If what I was expecting had come at the time I was desperate for it, I would not have made the best out of it.

I have grown to realize that I can’t control everything. I’ve learned not to undermine the place of fate in all that I do. What’s meant to be will be. If that job is going to be yours, it will be. If you are going to get that promotion at work, you will. No matter how long it may take, what’s meant to be is going to happen. And what’s not intended to be, you will have to let go. Life would not always go as planned. It will take us down different paths. Sometimes, you will win, and other times, you will fail. So brace yourself.

What’s yours will come to you

When life comes at you, and challenges beset you, always remember that you will overcome. They only last for a while and will not endure. Each setback is a stepping stone that edges you closer to your desire. That thing you are looking forward to; that contract, job, capital to start up a business, promotion, spouse, children, etc. will all come at the expected time. Although it may be difficult to be optimistic, do not fall into the pitfall of depression. When reprieve comes, it will be in the most unexpected of ways. And you will understand why it all happened.

The truth is, what’s meant to be ours will come,” said Marissa Connely. “Relationships will drift because they are making room for the right people. Love will fade because that individual wasn’t meant to be with us forever. Jobs will shift to create new opportunities. Plans will completely change because we’re not supposed to be stuck in one place.”

It may be difficult to see the light in the midst of all that is currently happening. It may look impossible to understand where all of it is leading to. However, do not be dismayed. When the right time comes, you will realize that everything you went through was leading you to your destined path.

Not an excuse for laziness

However, there is a place of playing your part while waiting for things to fall back in place. It is not enough to sit back and expect a miracle to happen. You need to put in the required effort. Only when you have done your part can you wait for fate to surprise you.
