5 Quick and Easy Exercises to Improve Your Eyesight Naturally

7If you look around, it seems that everybody has poor eyesight. Almost everyone you look at is wearing contacts, using glasses, or has gotten laser eye surgery. This problem is so common that the majority of children growing up today will need vision enhancement at some point in their lives.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with using tools like contacts and glasses. However, using natural remedies to improve your vision can help you strengthen your eyesight and see better for years to come.

1. Palming

Palming is often described as yoga for eyesight. This process allows you to alleviate some of the stress that your eyes go through on a daily basis and empowers them to heal naturally. Just follow these steps to give palming a try.

  1. Sit in a cross-legged position, close your eyes, and breathe deeply.

  2. Rub hands together until they are warm.

  3. Place your palms over your eyelids.

  4. Allow the warmth from your hands to go to your eyelids.

  5. Stay still until your hands have reached room temperature.

  6. Repeat as desired. Try to do this every day.

2. Directional Eye Exercises

Sometimes, your eyes get stuck in a rut. If you look at the computer screen all day or if you keep your eyes in a fixed position much of the time, your eyes may not get the exercise they need to maintain great vision. Try these different exercises to give your vision a boost. Perform all of these exercises in a seated position.

  1. Let your eyes relax. Roll your eyes up to look as high as you can. Roll them down slowly to look down as far as you can. Repeat three times.

  2. Slowly look to the left as far as you can. Without moving ahead, look to the right as far as you can. Repeat three times.

  3. Combine these exercises by looking diagonally. Follow all four diagonal directions and repeat three times.

3. Nose Tip Gazing

This gentle vision exercise can help you relax your eyes and allow them to look around in a way that best supports their health.

  1. While sitting, if your arm out in front of you. Stick your thumb up.

  2. Gradually focus your eyesight on the tip of the thumb. As you bend your arm and bring the tip of your thumb to your nose, keep your vision focused on the thumb.

  3. Repeat this process for at least five cycles.

4. Eye Massage

A little bit of massage can really improve the health of your eyes. Close your eyes and gently use the tips of your fingers to massage your eyelids and the surrounding skin.

5. Near and Distant Viewing

Humans were made to look outside. This exercise takes advantage of that and uses it to restore your eyesight to its natural health.

  1. Sit in front of a window that allows you to see the horizon.

  2. Focus on the distant horizon for about 10 seconds.

  3. Switch your focus to the tip of your nose for 10 seconds.

  4. Repeat this cycle 10 to 20 times.

  5. Close your eyes and let them rest for several minutes.
