It Took Heidi Klum Over 13 Hours To Get Into Her Halloween Costume And Its Revolting

Dressing up for Halloween is fun; some say that it is even more fun than tricking or treating. Perhaps one reason why is the look on people’s faces when they see our costume. This is one of the main reasons why many of us invest in the most outlandish gear imaginable, but none as grotesque as this.

German model, television personality, businesswoman, and actress, Heidi Klum is not one to shy away from attention, seeing as she has built a career around it. So, when the opportunity came knocking to get dressed up for Halloween, it comes as no surprise that she rose to the occasion with the most grotesque and outlandish costume you have ever seen.

Her costume was so horrible, in fact, that many of us were left in the dark about what exactly she was supposed to be. She looked like a cross between a cyborg and some sort of Frankenstein’s monster interpretation. The internet is still trying to figure it out, and even the experts at costuming are as lost as the rest of us. [1]

The only thing most people agree on is that it looks downright horrible, and it took an insane amount of time and effort to get her into it. The whole process took Klum and a dedicated team of make-up artists, prosthetics fitters, and many more staff members just over 13 hours to complete. And the results are, um, worth it?

Halloween time is Klum’s time

This isn’t the first time that the 46-year-old singer and supermodel is going all out for the spookiest time of the year. She has spent the last 20 years solidifying her status as the Celebrity Queen of Halloween and sees every Halloween as another opportunity to outdo herself.

For the past 20 years, Klum and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, have hosted a glitzy celebrity Halloween party where she showcases her costume for the year. This indescribable costume was unveiled at Klum’s 20th Annual Halloween party at Cathédrale this past Halloween in New York City. [2]

Prior to this, she has dressed up as Princess Fiona from Shrek, Jessica Rabbit, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” werewolf, and even a flesh-ripped corpse straight out of Hellraiser. This year’s own, however, takes the cake. If not for the costume itself, then for the time spent preparing to wow the audience and the world in general.

Her costume featured a brain covered by a glass dome, exposed organs, weird machine-like spikes poking out of her back, and terrifying-looking tubes sticking out from everywhere, including her nipples. The best part? She was dressed up by her costume team right in front of a live audience.

“This year is my 20th anniversary of my Halloween party, so I thought it would be fun for people to watch live when I get ready,” Klum said. “On the 34th Street store of Amazon, I’m gonna be sitting in the window, and people can just come by all day long and just watch the process if they’re interested in seeing something like that.”

She continued, “I thought it was fun to do a live art installation — that’s what I just want to call it, because, for me, it’s life art, what they do to me. People can hang out there all day and watch or come in the morning and then shop and come back in the afternoon. I’ll still be there. Come and watch if you want!” [3]

Klum wasn’t the only celebrity to dress up for the Halloween spirit. Kylie Jenner turned up as the Disney character Ariel from The Little Mermaid; popular singer Ariana Grande dressed up as a character from The Twilight Zone’s “Eye of the Beholder”; while LeBron James pulled off a LeDward Scissorhands impression, a look that had him crowned as the Celebrity Queen of Halloween.
