The Districts For The US Hunger Games Has Been Released, What State Is Everyone In?

The world right now could as well pass for a dystopian society where people are living in suffering and penury. Since the coronavirus crisis has caused millions of people to be out of jobs and fully dependent on their governments for survival, who knows what will happen next? While we hope for better days to come, it will hurt no one if we are prepared for every future possibility.

Right now, the U.S. states are in total disunity (how ironic) since each government is handling the crisis with varying degrees of urgency [1]. Businesses are still operational in some states, such as North Dakota, whereas New York and some others have already declared states of emergency. While other cities and states are banning gatherings of more than 50 people, Philadelphia in Pennsylvania set their “crowd gathering” limit to 1,000.

Citizens have already begun to protest the lockdown orders, insisting that their constitutional rights to freedom of movement are being infringed upon [2]. As of April 16, there are over 22 million people out of work in the U.S. as the economy takes a downward plunge [3]. The hunger crisis is expanding daily as foodbanks complain of shortage against high demand.

The situation in good old U.S. is starting to look more like the Panem country of The Hunger Games every day. Think about it. Washington D.C. is the Capitol and the 50 states will be grouped into 13 districts.

Should we be waiting for the day two representatives (known as tributes, aged 12 to 18) from each state will be selected to battle dangerously for food? The winning tribute will be sent home with cargos of supplies for their people to alleviate hunger and suffering for at least a year.

May the Games never begin – seriously

Some others are great at thinking ahead of everybody else, and now, U.S. citizens can find out which districts they belong to. A viral photo from Twitter making rounds on social media has placed every one of the 50 states into 13 unique districts, and people are raving about where they’ve fallen into.

The original districts in the series each had a peculiar craft the people practiced:

District 1 (Luxury)

District 2 (Masonry and defense)

District 3 (Technology)

District 4 (Fishing)

District 5 (Power)

District 6 (Transportation)

District 7 (Lumber)

District 8 (Textiles)

District 9 (Grain)

District 10 (Livestock)

District 11 (Agriculture)

District 12 (Coal)

District 13 (Graphite Mining and Nuclear Weaponry)

So, check out what district you’re in. You might be lucky to be placed in District 1, one of the wealthiest districts known for their skills in jeweling and manufacturing of luxury items. You could also be part of the cool district 3 with excellent skills in technology. If you’re unfortunate, like Katniss, you’d be a member of the dirt-poor district 12, the coal miners who spend their lives toiling and living in abject penury. However, this also means you have a high chance of winning the games – because Katniss ended up winning. To find out more about the districts, click here.
