What You First See Reveals A Lot About Your Character

Online picture personality tests may not be the most reliable or comprehensive of tests, but a lot of them may steer us toward some necessary information about our true selves. For most people, no matter how great they eventually become at this exercise called life, they’d never pass up a chance to learn something new about themselves.

In modern psychology, personality is one of the areas of humanity that’s highly unpredictable and difficult to explain or understand. [1] While there are several standard tests and examinations used by professionals to determine a person’s personality type or class, there’s only so much these tests can reveal. A person’s personality is most clearly expressed in their interactions with others and it’s difficult to understand because it evolves over time. Humans are highly evolutionary and this applies to every aspect of life.

However, personality tests have also evolved and they serve a great purpose in psychological assessments. [2] One such examination is an optical illusion with images or elements hidden or depicted in plain sight. The test usually consists of one image made up of several individual elements merged into one form, and an observer would only notice one element from one perspective at a time. Your first perspective is noted down and would subsequently reveal volumes about your true nature.

When you look at the image below, what do you see first?

Here’s what your first perspective reveals about you

The elderly man’s face

If the face was the first thing you noticed, then you’re a person with a very positive outlook on life. You are happy and always light at heart. You do not seek complications unnecessarily and you always seek the highest points of natural joy where you can find it.

The face embodies the entirety of the picture and if you spotted it first, it means you took the image in as a whole rather than a collection of separate elements. When you are faced with a problem, you are immediately inclined to pull at the very edges of the situation and take in the issue as a whole. You do not consider facts separately, rather, you try to find a more holistic way of doing things. This makes you a very resourceful person in problem-solving.

The bevy of ladies

If you saw the group of ladies playing instruments and dancing happily first, then you’re a person who enjoys association and cheerful company a lot. The fact that upon staring at the picture you were immediately drawn to the group of people shows that you require social interaction to thrive.

You are a happy-go-lucky kind of person and you enjoy entertainment – it’s not hard to imagine you’d crave night-outs with your friends a lot. You may require association to truly enjoy life, but this doesn’t mean you are desperate for external approval. You are a confident person, a great problem solver, a social butterfly, and someone who inherently refuses to be bothered about the travails of life.

The night sky, city, and a sailboat on a lake

If you noticed the scenery at first glance, then you are a very intricate personality with an intimate outlook on life. Only very few people would notice the night sky, city, and sailboat at first, and this makes them personalities with great depth.

They are intimate people – people who do not believe in superficial connections or relationships, but deep-rooted associations that are full of meaning to all parties involved. They are delicate, emotional, and usually empathetic, often seeing beyond what is shown or what is intended to be seen. They are also great problem solvers who would approach every situation from the most difficult parts and work their way down to the simplest. They are usually introverts who shy away from loud environments, noise, all kinds of drama.
