Building A Beautiful Arched House Will Cost You Only $1000

Tiny, minimalist homes are life savers these days, especially for a global economy where decent housing has become one of the most expensive things money can buy. With hundreds of thousands of people across the world without suitable homes, the minimalist concept plays an important role in providing small, affordable, and low-cost housing to serve the occupant’s most important needs: shelter, security, and comfort. No matter how tiny a home is, if you manage your space properly, you’ll make the most of it.

People have recently fallen in love with Arched Cabins, a collection of unique and beautiful tiny homes produced by Arched Cabins, an American company in Texas that holds the design patent. [1] With about $1,000 you can purchase the full kit and have it delivered to your property for assembly in less than 6 weeks. The allure of the house is the arch shape, and depending on the size and specs you’ve chosen, you can get a one-level or two-level home packed in your kit. Despite the small size, there can actually be several rooms fitted into one arched cabin, and you can use it for a wide variety of purposes including an office, a children’s playground, a vacation space, a party hut, a garage, a workshop, and even an animal rescue shelter.

The Arched Cabin also has a low-carbon footprint for green living, fitted on the exterior with a Super Span roof paneling made from 32–50% recycled steel. The paneling has a solid 40-year warranty that comes in 23 different energy rated colors. According to the company’s website, the cabin has a minimum of R13 insulation for energy conservation and lends itself to water collection. All products are manufactured in the state of Texas in the U.S., and it’s amazing how super-affordable such high quality products could be. These arched homes certainly have a great future in the promising estate market.

More specifications and details

Arched cabin heights and floor plans are chosen by the buyer and will be built accordingly by the company. They package the entire kit with an easy to understand manual for delivery to anywhere in the United States within 4 to 6 weeks. The company ships outside the U.S. based on the destination country’s regulation, but as of 2019, Arched Cabins was only delivering within the U.S. [2]

You can either choose to assemble to cabin yourself or have a local professional do it for you. According to the company’s website: “The 8′ wide Arched Cabin is 8′ tall, the 12′ wide Arched Cabin is 10′ tall, the tall 12′ wide Arched Cabin is 12′ tall, the 14′ wide Arched Cabin is 12′ tall, the 16′ wide is 14’6″ tall, the 20′ wide is 17’4″ tall, the 24′ is 18’8″ tall, and the 30′ wide is 17’4″ tall.” The heights span from the floor to the top of the ridge beam which is 4 inches thick.

Before assembling an arched cabin in your state or city, you’d have to compare the structure’s wind/snow load ratings with speeds and snowfall heights in your area. As seen on their website, “Arched Cabins meet 2015 International Building Code minimum standards of 150 mph wind speeds and 30 psf (pounds per square foot) snow loads.”

The company may also provide you with technical or engineering drawings, priced at $150 and $650 respectively. You’d have to make a 50% payment for your cabin upon purchase and complete the payment upon delivery. Delivery from the factory in Cypress, Texas, is calculated based on the length of the cabin and distance to be traveled. Kits as tall as 24 inches are $2 per mile to deliver, and kits above 25 inches are priced at $2.50 per mile.
