This Is The Catnip Wine That Lets You Get Drunk With Your Cat

There’s nothing more depressing than having wine alone. Your best friend is in Las Vegas, and your significant other is working late. That won’t stop you from bringing out two glasses and uncorking the bottle. Have no fear. Your drinking buddy is coming! You open the door and in walks… your cat.

Catnip Wine for Cats?

Felines deserve to have fun too. That’s why Colorado-based Apollo Peak created two types of wines for cats, MosCATo and Pinot Meow. On their website, Apollo Peak said: “Why drink alone?! We have labored intensively to develop a non-alcoholic, catnip-based wine just for your furry feline friends…it’s a satisfying blend for cats of all ages.”

Now you won’t drink alone. The catnip in the wine gives cats a high like they’re drunk. Their reactions to the beverage vary. Smaller amounts of the wine cause the cat act like a party animal, jumping around and running in circles. More consumption results in mellow sleepiness. Others become more affectionate and cuddly with the owner. Every cat has a different response, not unlike intoxicated humans.

For those who are wondering, this wine is completely safe for your pet. It does not contain alcohol which is, of course, detrimental to their health. Instead, the main ingredient is catnip. This gives felines a high because of a chemical in the herb called nepetalactone. Grapes are as well can be harmful to cats so Apollo Peak used beets for flavour and colour. Some companies add some sea salt or Vitamin C for extra taste.

“The Pinot Meow is a blend of all natural organic catnip grown in the U.S. and brewed with fresh mountain water and 100% whole organic beet, it’s a satisfying blend for cats of all ages,” says Apollo Peak.

Don’t be worried that your cat will be stuck in a drunken state. The effects wear off after about ten minutes, but during that time, they experience all the joys that humans have while drinking.

Apollo Peak says, “The Moscato is a feline snack wine designed to delight even the most picky of cats.” This includes even your pet. We all know that cats are divas with pointed ears.

When it comes to satisfying humans… not so much. Catnip doesn’t have a strong effect on people, and the taste is not as enjoyable and the classic grape aged wine. Yet cat wine is drinkable if you want to give it a sip. The makers of the catnip wine have sampled their creation. They didn’t go as crazy for it as their feline wine-tasters.

The best solution is for you to have your bottle of your favorite alcohol as there’s no need to compromise on preference, and Kitty gets her own MosCATo or Pinot Meow, based on her choice. This is your occasion, your treat, there’s no need to share. Anyway you’ll soon see that Kitty will like her wine so much, sharing won’t even be an option for you.

If that isn’t already incredible, then hear this: Big cats like leopards, tigers, and tigers also go crazy for catnip! Wait, you mean to tell me you don’t have a pet tiger? Well, what are you waiting for? Go get one!
